  1. Music lovers mark your calendars for the Essex Park and Recreation Summer Concert Series, which kicks off next week. This series always brings a wide array of different types of bands to the Essex Town Green & Ivoryton Town Green. The concerts go all through the summer. Click here for a full list of concerts.   2. The Deep River Housing Authority has a limited number of tickets available for seniors in the Deep River area who wish to see "The Sound of Music" production at the Ivoryton Playhouse. The show will be on Wednesday, July 26. Tickets are being sold for a discounted rate of $15. The limit is 2 per person! Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. The State of Connecticut is awarding $8.8 million in grants through the inaugural round of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's Climate Resilience Fund to support 21 innovative climate resilience plans and projects across Connecticut. According to a press release from the office of Gov. Ned Lamont, "The DEEP is utilizing DCRF funds to catalyze Connecticut’s resilience project pipeline and ensure our communities are competitive for federal resources, which are at historic levels as a result of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.
