  1. The French bulldog that was found on the grounds of the Essex Steam Train on Saturday, July 9, not wearing a collar was adopted out Monday afternoon. On a Facebook post, The Essex Animal Control Officer thanked everyone who contacted Animal Control with their tips.

According to a Facebook post on the Town of Essex page, "The State of Connecticut recently accepted the federal waiver for summer meal extension. Therefore, Grab & Go Summer Meals will resume, beginning today. Breakfast and lunch options will be available for pick up during weekdays at Essex Elementary School. Please arrive at the main entrance traffic circle, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. It is open to all children 18 and younger at no cost and no enrollment needed." (Town of Essex – Government via Facebook)
