ESSEX, CT — Geologist Bob Wintsch will lead 1½ to 2-hour hike in Essex's Canfield-Meadow Woods Preserve on Saturday, December 4th at 10 a.m. He will be identifying ancient fractures filled with granite and explain when and why the granite came to be there. He will also spend some time discussing how the last glacier modified the landscape and shapeed the rocks that are exposed.
