- This is a community alert! Tiger, the friendly black and white tabby cat that often greets visitors at the Deep River Walgreens is missing. His family is very worried about him. It's not like him to not return home after an active day of meeting Walgreens visitors. His owners have put out this notice on Facebook, "Hey everyone. I think many of you know my cat, Tiger. He's the guy who loves hanging out at the Walgreens in Deep River. We live just a few doors down from there, on Elm Street. He didn't come home last night, so we're looking for him. I've already wandered the neighborhood a few times and checked all the hidey holes nearby. There are lots of things that could have happened to him of course, but I know from experience that one possibility is that someone might have taken him. If you have him, or you know someone who does, please bring him back! We love him very much. He's a healthy, happy 14-year-old cat who is well cared for and deserves to be with his family. Also, if you don't have him but you have knowledge of what happened to him, we'd appreciate hearing from you too. My phone number is 860-391-9062. Thank you very much." (Chester Chat via Facebook)

- IKEA Donates $1000 of Home Furnishings to Deep River Non-Profit A Little Compassion got a wonderful gift from IKEA to help with the expansion of its location. The Swedish home furnishing giant donated $1000 of Home Furnishing to A Little Compassion to be used for The Nest Coffee House. According to a press release, "the IKEA donation will support the expanded space of this important program. The Nest Coffee House, a program of A Little Compassion Inc., is dedicated to changing the lives of young adults with disabilities. Jane Moen, ALC Founder & Executive Director said: “At The Nest we understand that finding your place in the world can be tough – especially for a young adult with autism, an intellectual or developmental disability, or who is neurodiverse. ALC has set out to make that journey smoother by creating employment and social opportunities for these young adults who need an opportunity to shine. We are grateful for the support of IKEA New Haven in helping to make our new space one that will be efficient and welcoming for all that visit.” Jeff Zeitlin, Loyalty Manager for IKEA New Haven, commented: “The mission of A Little Compassion, and their special program, The Nest Coffee House, is very much aligned with the IKEA philosophy of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. When we learned of the expansion of The Nest and its positive impact in its community and beyond, we were happy to be able to support their efforts.” (Patch)
