The Town of Essex would like to thank Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner Joseph Giulietti for all the work they have done to support transportation safety upgrades and improved accessibility.    The Town of Essex award will be used for the construction of a critical pedestrian corridor connecting one of Essex’s most densely populated neighborhoods (Heritage Cove) with North Main Street and the heart of Essex Village.   The Town has been seeking funds for the construction of this sidewalk and pedestrian bridge for several years and are excited to learn that our application was awarded.
