Here are the top three stories today in Essex-Chester-Deep River:
- The names of area students who made the honor role at Xavier High School and Mercy High School have been listed. Do you recognize any of these outstanding students? Congratulations to them and the other outstanding students who had an impressive academic year at their respected high schools and colleges! (Zip06.com)
- You are invited to take sides at the Ivoryton Playhouse's 'Native Gardens' performance. The story about feuding neighbors is a comical one, that disputes Robert Frost's idealism that fences make for good neighbors. Why not plan a night out with family and friends for dinner or lunch and a play? Performances are Wednesday at 2 and 7:30 p.m., Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT Insider)
- According to a press release from the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, the Pullman & Comley's Family Law practice was recognized at the 2022 Connecticut Legal Awards, presented by the Connecticut Law Tribune. The practice was the recipient of the "Litigation Department of the Year — Specialty Litigation Practice" award. Congratulations! (Press Release Desk)

(Tri-Town Youth Services Bureau via Facebook)
- Town of Essex – Government: "From the Animal Control office! We have received a few calls about snapping turtles. The nesting season for the common snapping turtle is from April through November, with most of the nesting in southern New England occurring in late May through June. Snapping turtles rarely leave their aquatic habitat except during the breeding season, at which time females travel great distances in search of a place to dig a nest and lay eggs.
