Fairfield High Schools Holiday Concerts
The Fairfield Public Schools Music Department is pleased to announce Carillon and Candlelight 
Holiday Concerts.
Fairfield Warde High School will present Carillon on Tuesday, December 16 at 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Fairfield Ludlowe High School will present Candlelight on Thursday, December 18 at 6:30pm and&nbsp;8:30pm.

Doors will open 15 minutes prior to each performance. Due to the unique nature of these concerts&nbsp;(no applause, performers in aisles) we cannot seat late arrivals.

Tickets will be available online at www.fairfieldschools.org/performances beginning Monday,&nbsp;December 1, 2025 at 8:00am. Anyone experiencing difficulties ordering an online ticket can email&nbsp;fpsholidaytix@gmail.com or call (203) 255-8469 from December 1 through December 9 between 8:00am and 3:00pm.

as we run and walk through the scenic trails in full Christmas spirit! Kids can enjoy our Santa Dash right in front of the historic Waveny Mansion, and adults can choose between the 5K or the one-mile walk.
We typically welcome 250–300 participants, making this a lively and community-filled holiday tradition.

All proceeds help fund the food supplies for our 100,000-meal food packing event with Feed My Starving Children on March 7, 2026 at New Canaan High School.

Santa Run - 5k, Mile Walk, Santa Dash for kids 8 & under

Danbury Sports Dome

NXT Rugby, a new player-development initiative in the New York Metro region, is set to host a series of rugby skills clinics this December for players ages 14–19. Designed to elevate off-season preparation, the program brings together one of the most accomplished coaching rosters ever assembled for youth rugby in the Northeast.
The clinics will take place at Chelsea Piers Stamford and the Danbury Sports Dome, offering players specialist, position-specific coaching delivered in small groups and 1-on-1 sessions. Athletes will train under Ivy League coaches, former international players, Olympians, MLR Academy specialists, and technical consultants, all of whom have developed athletes who progressed into JV, varsity programs, national pathways, and Major League Rugby systems.
“Our goal is to give motivated players access to the type of coaching, detail, and environment that drives real improvement,” said the NXT Rugby program director. “This level of expertise is rarely available locally, and we’re thrilled to offer it to athletes in our community.”
NXT Rugby’s curriculum is built in alignment with USA Rugby’s player pathway and skill assessment frameworks, ensuring that content is developmentally appropriate, safe, and structured. The program emphasizes technical precision, game intelligence, speed development, and individualized feedback—core ingredients for players seeking to advance ahead of the 2026 season. Their sessions are held with a full complement of medical &amp; support staff to ensure optimized player safety.
With youth rugby participation rapidly growing in Connecticut and Westchester, local demand for high-quality training opportunities has surged. NXT Rugby expects full enrollment, especially following the upcoming NY Sevens tournament, where awareness among regional clubs is high.
Registration is now open at www.nxt.rugby/enrollment, with limited spaces remaining. Parents and players are encouraged to secure their spot early.

This legislative update and community conversation will bring together State Senator Tony Hwang, State Representative Tony Scott (ranking leader on General Assembly Housing Committee), and leaders from CT-169 Strong to discuss how pending and proposed residential developments are reshaping Fairfield’s neighborhoods and what may come next under the recently passed statewide housing bill, H.B. 8002.
Speakers will address the cumulative impact of increased housing density on everyday quality of life and core town systems, including traffic flow and congestion, road and pedestrian safety, school capacity, utilities, public safety services, and other critical infrastructure. The program will also explore the broader implications for neighborhood character, environmental pressures, and long-term municipal planning.
The discussion will explain how long-standing state housing statutes such as 8-30g intersect with H.B. 8002, and how these policies can shift key land-use decisions away from local boards and residents. Panelists will outline how development pressures are likely to evolve in the coming years, what residents should watch for, and where public input can make a difference.
Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of what these changes mean for Fairfield as a whole, and how residents and local leaders can engage constructively in shaping Fairfield’s future.
