UPDATED: Allgrove School In East Granby Locked Down Thursday, Situation Over And All Clear
Details are still scarce as the cause of the lockdown is an ongoing police investigative matter, but some new information is available. The lock down condition lasted only slightly more than an hour.

Update: While the exact nature of the lockdown of East Granby's Allgrove Elementary School is still under wraps because it involves an ongoing investigation by East Granby police, Granby-East Granby Patch has gathered a few more details about the school's relatively brief use of the secured building protocol Thursday afternoon.
While the exact nature of the incident cannot yet be released by town officials, we have learned that the lock down procedure was initiated because of a perceived threat to the school that ultimately turned out to be a false alarm.
"[The town and the school system] took the proper precautions," said East Granby First Selectman Jim Hayden.
