Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Slated In Simsbury

The event is for residents of Farmington, Avon, Canton, Granby, Simsbury and Suffield.

Folks from several area towns might want to go through their house or garage for unwanted household hazardous waste.

That's because, this Saturday, a multi-town effort to safely dispose of it is slated to take place in Simsbury.

Farmington, Avon, Canton, Granby, Simsbury and Suffield are behind the regional household hazardous waste collection at the Simsbury Public Works Facility, 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury.

The collection will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and it will be open to all residents from those towns.

Items to be collected include: electronics recycling; used motor oil; and other household waste.

In addition, the event will feature personal document shredding from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until the trucks are full. Guests are asked to limit their documents to two boxes.
