Seven People Displaced Following Pair Of Fires In East Granby
A large blaze consumed most of a house on Route 187 late Sunday, just hours after firefighters quickly extinguished a fire on Seymour Road.

EAST GRANBY, CT — Firefighters were quite busy Sunday, with an attic fire at one location and a structure blaze which left a home in ruins.
Around 1 p.m., an attic fire was reported at a unit on Seymour Road. It was quickly contained, and representatives of the American Red Cross went to the scene to assist the family of one adult and three children.
Shortly after 11 p.m.,a three-alarm fire consumed a 2,569 square foot house at 195 North Main Street. Three adults were inside the home at the time, but all escaped unharmed, according to authorities. Mutual aid from several neighboring towns was requested, and the Red Cross again responded to aid the family.

One firefighter sustained a minor leg injury, and was treated and released from an area medical facility, authorities said.
East Granby investigators were being assisted by members of the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosion Investigative Unit.
