Suspicious Package Delays Granby Library Opening

GRANBY, CT — The Granby Public Library's opening was delayed for about an hour Tuesday because of a suspicious package, police said.

The library typically opens at 10 a.m., but during the "opening procedures," an unaccounted for package was located.

Police arrived at the scene and the package was inspected and determined no to be a threat, authorities said.

There was never a danger to the community, police said.

The library was open at about 11 a.m., authorities said.

"We appreciate the community's response and cooperation," police said.
