8-Year Sentence for Greenwich Cabbie Slashing Suspect
The suspect was pleaded guilty to slashing a cabbie who drove him to the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.

The Mexican national accused of slashing the neck of a Greenwich cabbie has been sentenced to eight years in jail and reportedly will face deportation once he’s finished his sentence.
Miguel Reyes-Pantoja had pleaded guilty to robbery and assault charges in connection with the Valentine’s Day assault on the cabbie who drove him from Port Chester to the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.
Reyes-Pantoja was sentenced Thursday to eight years in jail for the incident, according to Greenwich Time.

The cab driver called for help on his CB radio after being slashed with a box cutter that opened up a seven-inch gash from his left ear nearly to his chin, prompting a response from his colleagues and Greenwich Police who nabbed Reyes-Pantoja a short distance away on South Water Street.
Reyes-Pantoja’s public defender, Barry Butler, said his client was mentally troubled and hears voices, and had been drinking that night, according to the Greenwich Time story that can be found here.
