Police say the driver also had his two young children in his vehicle.

A driver is facing several charges including driving while intoxicated and risk of injury to a minor after he was involved in two car accidents Saturday night including a wrong-way crash on Greenwich Avenue, according to Greenwich Police.

The 35-year-old man is accused of hitting a parked vehicle in front of 64 Greenwich Ave. shortly before 8 p.m. Dec. 19 and then leaving the scene by driving the wrong-way on the southbound-only street, according to a police report.

A witness gave police a description of the BMW SUV and the driver and a short time later police found the SUV and driver when they responded to a three-vehicle crash on Upper Cross Road.

Police said that Karega S. Atkinson-Jones, of Brooklyn, NY, apparently rear-ended one vehicle which was then pushed into the vehicle in front of it. No one was injured in the crash including Atkinson-Jones’s two children, ages 5 and 8, who were inside the BMW, according to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

Atkinson-Jones failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, following too close and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.
