GREENWICH, CT - With the Christmas shopping crush in full gear in Greenwich, it’s time for the annual rite of finding a parking space in the central business district. At the very least, parking is tight and hard to find and sometimes drivers get a bit creative with their parking habits.

Parking can be made even more difficult when motorists don’t park within a designated spot, as evidenced in the above photo taken at a Greenwich gourmet food store.

Well, it seems that one parking job by a driver was so out of the ordinary that it caught the attention of a Greenwich Police officer on holiday patrol.

The officer was patrolling Greenwich Avenue on Nov. 30 and saw “a vehicle improperly parked” on the one-way only street — the car was backed into the parking space, according to a police report.

The driver of the car was found and the officer also discovered the car had two different license plates — one belonging to the car rental agency that owned the car, the other belonging to a car registered in New Jersey.

The driver, identified as Sef Rahman Mohammed, 29, of Philadelphia, PA, was ticketed for improper parking and misuse of plates. He was released after posting a $250 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
