Greenwich Boys and Girls Club Elects New Chair

Three new board members were named in addition to the election of a new trustees chairman.

GREENWICH, CT - Greenwich George J. Fox has been a trustee for the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich for 10 years and he recently elected chair of the Board of Trustees.

And three other Greenwich residents have been elected to the board.

Fox has served as board vice president for four years. The Board of Directors unanimously elected Fox as the club’s chairman, succeeding Lisa Stuart who now serves as the co-vice chair of the club’s board.

Fox created the club’s signature Corporate 3 on 3 Basketball Challenge which, now in its 10th year, raises nearly $200,000 annually to support Club programs. He meets with club youth on a regular basis as a speaker for the Club’s Junior Business Leader program and as a mentor for teens.

Fox is the co-founder and president of Titan Advisors, a hedge fund firm based in Stamford, with offices in London and Toronto. Fox also serves on the Advisory Board of the Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Health Care, where he organizes the annual Jonas Center Golf Classic. A native of Nashville, TN, Fox graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and earned a law degree from the University of Richmond (VA). He is the father of three adult sons.

The club also announced that Greenwich residents Juliet Tammenoms Bakker, Dean W. Bell and Elizabeth Lake have been elected board members. Bakker is a founder and managing director of Longitude Capital where she focuses on investments in medical technology. She began her career as an investment banker in the corporate finance department at PaineWebber, Inc. Juliet currently serves on the boards of Alphaeon, AqueSys, Sympara and Venus Concept. Bakker holds an M.P.A. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University.

Bell is a club alum who attended BGCG since he was six. He participated in many sports programs and was the club’s 1994 Youth of the Year his senior year at Greenwich High school. He graduated from Boston College in 1998 with a degree in accounting and joined KPMG where he was recently promoted to partner.

Originally from Charleston, SC, Lake attended The Taft School and then Brown University where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Art History. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City and accepted a position at Sotheby’s, Inc. in the Impressionist and Modern Art Department. In 2014, Lake co-chaired the BGCG Benefit, Moroccan Nights. She also serves on the board of Family Centers and is a trustee on the board of her family’s foundation, the Merck Family Fund.
