Greenwich Cheerleading Team Qualifies For World Championship

The World Championship will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., from April 26-30.

GREENWICH, CT — Spirit Zone too, a local all-star cheerleading team based in Greenwich, has qualified for The Cheerleading Worlds at the Winner Choice Championships.

The level 6 extra small limited co-ed team features 14 girls and two boys between the ages of 13-18 from across Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, who are heading to the event for the first time.

The World Championship will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., from April 26-30. The team is being led by gym owner Anne Asta and coach Tammy Thompson.

The Cheerleading World Championship showcases the most challenging performances, positive energy and shared emotions within the all-star community.

Teams are invited to participate in the international all-star competition. The annual event is a dedicated tribute to the expertise, athleticism, determination and shared passion that characterizes all -star cheerleading.

The Cheerleading Worlds, which began with just 14 teams in 2004, now encompasses over 500 teams each year.

Over 10,500 all-star athletes from 25 nations come together for The Cheerleading Worlds.

Spirit Zone Too is located in Greenwich and offers toddler and preschool gymnastics, tumbling and stunting classes and clinics for all ages, along with cheer skills classes and nationally ranked all-star cheerleading teams for ages 3 and above.
