Greenwich Public Schools Appoint Education Technology Director

The director will help grow the district's digital learning initiative.

Michael Ting has been appointed the Director of Educational Technology for Greenwich Public Schools.

His appointment is effective Monday. With 15 years of Information Technology (IT) and management experience, Ting joins the district after most recently leading a team at Encompass Digital Media in Stamford, a mid-sized IT consulting firm with clients throughout the Northeastern corridor.

According to Chief Information Officer Phil Dunn, “Michael Ting possesses technical expertise across all domains of technology, paired with an ability to communicate complex subject matter clearly. This rare combination of skills is needed to sustain and grow the District’s vision of the Digital Learning Environment (DLE).”

Ting has worked in the Information Technology (IT) services field since 2000, where he began his career at First Virtual Communication in Redwood City, CA. Since moving to the Northeast, he has worked for firms managing IT systems and staff, including Tournament One Corporation in Stamford, Arkadium in New York City as Director of IT, and as Project Engineering Team Lead for The TNS Group in Stamford. He also has managed corporate IT infrastructures for television broadcasting networks as Senior IT Systems Engineer for Encompass Digital Media in Stamford.

Ting received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Charter Oak State College in New Britain. He also holds a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) Certification.
