UPDATE: Greenwich Water Main Break Repairs Nearly Complete
Motorists in Cos Cob are facing a detour while repairs are made.

Update: 11:10 a.m.:
Aquarion Water Co. reports that the water main break has been repaired and that restoration of the road should be completed by around 11:30 a.m.
Water service was shut down at 1 a.m. for 25 customers after a main broke on Indian Field Road near East Putnam Avenue.

According to Aquarion spokesman Peter Fazekas, service was restored at 7 a.m. A 12-foot section of the six-inch main was replaced.
“The change in temperature most likely affected ground movement enough to cause the break. Our crew has already flushed, so water should be running clear at this point,” Fazekas wrote in an email.

The morning commute in Cos Cob is being impacted by a water main break on Indian Field Road at East Putnam Avenue, according to Greenwich Police.
The break was reported about 11 p.m. Thursday and repairs were ongoing at 7:30 a.m. Friday.
Indian Field Road between East Putnam and Cross Lane and there are detour signs in place.
Greenwich Emergency Dispatch Center personnel said they have not been notified when repairs will be completed.
