Ways To Spend Valentine's Day In Greenwich: Town Officials
Patch asked various town officials how they recommend celebrating Valentine's Day in Greenwich this year. Here's what they said.
GREENWICH, CT — Amid everything going on during the first couple of months of 2021, it can be easy to forget that Valentine's Day is next week.
'Though the coronavirus crisis hit Connecticut early last year, Valentine's Day was largely unaffected by the virus in 2020. Unfortunately, though vaccination efforts are continuing across the state, the holiday will also undoubtedly look different this year.

"There are many great options to celebrate the holiday in Greenwich. Our restaurants are open for both in-person dining and take-out. Our beautiful parks, beaches and trails offer a myriad of options to enjoy the holiday outdoors."
Selectwoman Jill Oberlander
"I love Valentine's Day! My grandparents were florists and for most of my childhood and into my early twenties, Valentine's Day was marked by a floral arrangement from "my secret admirer." No one is too-young or too-old to appreciate love and connection. So, my advice to friends and neighbors is to reach out to loved ones and those in the community who may appreciate the connection, particularly during this lonely pandemic. If you can, shop local and spread your cheer to our terrific retailers (and gift recipients). And, finally, take a walk outside to appreciate Greenwich's natural beauty - the beach, our parks and preserves, and even the birds!"
Selectwoman Lauren Rabin
"Take a walk with your loved one in any of the many romantic/historic neighborhoods of Greenwich. Dine locally at one of our fabulous restaurants. Shop small at one of our many unique local merchants for that perfect gift. Happy Valentines Day!"
Marcia O'Kane, Greenwich Chamber of Commerce president
"Why not make Valentine's Day a family affair this year and explore one of our town's beautiful outdoor spaces such as Greenwich Audubon Center, Montgomery Pinetum, Bruce Park or Greenwich Point. Gather the crew and take a brisk walk in nature followed by hot chocolate from one of our many amazing eateries in town. This could be a fun way to celebrate."
Diane Kelly, Greenwich Hospital president
"Happy Valentine's Day! It's a great day to commit to your heart health and that of your loved ones – whether it's your partner, family or dog – by taking a walk in our beautiful community while maintaining social distancing."
Amy Weber, Cos Cob resident
"Greenwich Moms just launched a Valentine's Box full of self-care items for moms and fun activities for kids - a fun gift for friends or yourself."
Amy Peel, town resident
"Pop some champagne with the one you love! Personalized champagne and wine gift boxes can make for a romantic evening! Contact Amy at Greenwich Calligraphy (475-675-0875)."
