GUILFORD, CT — Located at 173 Highwoods Drive in Guilford is the Pitkin House, which was built in 1660 and recently listed for sale at $2.395 million.
There are five bedrooms, nine bathrooms and the house is just over 5,400 square feet, according to the listing on Zillow.
"An unmatched preservation of the fabric of American heritage & unquestionably one of the finest restorations in New England, the Pitkin house is a true historical treasure. Considered one of the finest examples of pre-Revolutionary architecture in CT," the Zillow listing says. "In its early glory, notable guests are said to have been General Washington & Count de Rochambeau. Originally sited in East Hartford, the residence was dismantled & re-erected in 1955 on its present site in Guilford where it is nestled within a nearly 4-acre setting of 300 year old dogwood trees, manicured lawns, & magical gardens."
