2 Seriously Injured In Crash In Hamden: Police
Two people were hospitalized after a crash that damaged a traffic control box and knocked out the traffic control lights, police said.
HAMDEN, CT — Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash early Saturday morning in Hamden, according to police.
Police responded around 3:30 a.m. to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Church Street on reports of a one-vehicle accident, according to Lt. Raymond Quinn.
Quinn said arriving officers found that a vehicle struck the traffic control box, traffic control support pole, and a utilities equipment box. There were two occupants of the vehicle who were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to Quinn.

Dixwell Avenue was temporarily closed due to the crash.
Quinn said the traffic control lights on Dixwell Avenue at Church Street won’t be working for an extended period of time.
