5 Displaced From Home After 2-Alarm Fire In Hamden
Officials said crews battled heavy fire and smoke, along with extremely dry conditions.
HAMDEN, CT — Five people were displaced from their home after a 2-alarm fire Sunday afternoon in Hamden, according to officials.
Crews responded around 3:30 p.m. to a single-family house fire on Country Hills Road, according to fire officials.
“Rescue 2 and Engine 2 arrived shortly thereafter to find heavy fire on both the first and second floor,” officials wrote in a post on the Hamden Fire Department’s Facebook page. “An aggressive interior coordinated attack was initiated while crews encountered high heat, heavy smoke, and fire conditions. HFD crews performed a primary search under extreme conditions ensuring all occupants were out of the structure. The assignment was upgraded to a second alarm due to the conditions present along with the extremely dry conditions and concerns of exposures. All occupants were safely out of the home.
