Apostles of the Sacred Heart Welcome Amy Ekeh

Ekeh, an award-winning Catholic author, joined the staff in June.

The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are pleased to welcome Amy Ekeh as the new Director of Mission Advancement for the U.S. Province. A Catholic author, retreat director and teacher, Ekeh joined the Office of Mission Advancement on June 9.

Ekeh, an award-winning author, has written several books and a variety of articles and essays. Her most recent book, Stretch Out Your Hand: Reflections on the Healing Ministry of Jesus, was published in January 2025. Her book Come to Me, All of You: Stations of the Cross in the Voice of Christ, won a third-place award in the 2024 Association of Catholic Publishers’ Excellence in Publishing Awards. She is a former columnist at Catholic Digest and Catechist Magazine and has written for several other Catholic publications, including St. Anthony Messenger, The Bible Today and Give Us This Day.

Outside of writing, Ekeh is an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, where she teaches New Testament. She also sits on the faculty of the New England Catholic Biblical School. It was through her ministry with the Biblical School that Ekeh first encountered the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She taught many Apostles through the years and came to embrace the charism of the community.

As her familiarity with the Apostles grew, Ekeh was invited to lead retreats at the Caritas Christi Center at the Apostles’ Provincial House in Hamden. In 2024, she served as the Emcee of the Lights of Faith dinner fundraiser for the Apostles at the Aqua Turf.

Ekeh most recently worked as the Director of Little Rock Scripture Study at Liturgical Press, where she oversaw the production, publication and distribution of print and video resources for their flagship Scripture study program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in theology from the University of Dallas and a Master of Arts in theology from The Catholic University of America. Ekeh has a passion for Scripture and theology, and she enjoys speaking and directing retreats at parishes, conferences and retreat centers. She and her husband Ono have four children.
