Back To School: Hamden 2025-26 School Calendar

HAMDEN, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Hamden, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Hamden Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for most students in Hamden is Monday, Aug. 25.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• First Day: Aug. 25
• Labor Day, no school: Sept. 1
• Rosh Hashanah, no school: Sept. 23
• Yom Kippur, no school: Oct. 2
• Indigenous People’s Day, no school: Oct. 13
• Election Day / Staff Professional Development, no school for students: Nov. 3-4
• Thanksgiving Recess, no school: Nov. 26-28
• Holiday Recess / New Year’s Day, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 5
• Three Kings Day, no school: Jan. 6
• Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 19
• Presidents’ Day, no school: Feb. 16
• Eid al-Fitr, no school: March 20
• Good Friday, no school: April 3
• Spring Recess, no school: April 13-17
• Memorial Day, no school: May 25
• Projected Last Student Day: June 11
• Juneteenth, no school (if school is in session): June 19
