Catherine (Kotwica) Vernucci, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025.

She lived a long full life, sharing lots of laughs with her Honeyspot Pals at polka dances and roller skating.

Catherine (Kotwica) Vernucci, age 91 of Milford, CT (Clearwater, FL), passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 16, 2025. Catherine was born on November 19, 1933 in Bridgeport Hospital to the late Mary Elizabeth Urban and Martin Joseph Kotwica.

Kay “Cookie” Vernucci, was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Nicholas Vernucci Sr. in 2002, sister Rosemarie (Kresley Rothwell Dunn) in 2013, and brother Martin Kotwica in 1987.

She lived a long full life, sharing lots of laughs with her Honeyspot Pals at polka dances and roller skating. She worked with and met her soulmate during her 13 years at Sikorsky Aircraft of Stratford, CT.

She leaves behind her sons Nicholas Vernucci Jr. (Jennifer), Alex Vernucci (Stasha) and her late son (1972) Christopher Vernucci. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren: Lillian Vernucci, Nicholas Vernucci III, and oldest granddaughter Elisha Vernucci (Robert Fino). As well as four great grandchildren: Scarlett, Cecelia Joy, Conrad, and Henry.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. Friends are encouraged to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford CT 06460. Interment will be held privately by the family.
