Christmas, New Year's Day Holiday Announcements In Hamden

Officials announce the schedule for town buildings and the trash & recycling collection for the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays.

HAMDEN, CT — Town officials are reminding residents and staff of the following holiday information.

Town offices and buildings, including Government Center, Keefe Community Center, all Hamden Public Library buildings, and the Hamden Transfer Station, will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day, and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 26 at their regularly scheduled hours.

Town offices and buildings, including Government Center, Keefe Community Center, all Hamden Public Library buildings, and the Hamden Transfer Station, will be closed Saturday, Dec. 30 through Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day, and will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 2 at their regularly scheduled hours.

Trash and recycling pickup for both weeks will be delayed by one day due to the respective holidays. The pickup normally scheduled for Monday, Dec. 25 will occur on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and so forth, culminating in Friday's pickup taking place on Saturday. The pickup normally scheduled for Monday, Jan. 1 will occur on Tuesday, Jan. 2 and so forth, culminating in Friday's pickup taking place on Saturday.
