Connecticut Author Deborah Levison To Visit Hamden

Levison will discuss her book "The Crate: a Story of War, a Murder and Justice" at a free event Nov. 1 in the Thornton Wilder Hall.

Deborah Levison is an award-winning CT author, freelance writer, and publicist. Her debut book "The Crate: a Story of War, a Murder and Justice" received excellent reviews and won seven literary awards. It is a true crime story with timely themes: domestic violence, racial hatred, and the need for tolerance and sanctuary in our society. Join us for a free visit with the author, Deborah Levison, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, 7 pm, in the Thornton Wilder Hall, 2901 Dixwell Avenue in Hamden, CT.

Ms. Levison will talk about her book and the compelling story of her family. Her parents survived the Holocaust, then moved to Canada in the hopes of finding a safe refuge there. They built a cottage near a lake, but then a horrific discovery shatters the peace and tranquility of their fragile lives. In the crawl space beneath their cottage, they find a tightly shut wooden crate with human remains inside.Ms. Levison grew up in Canada and now lives in Connecticut with three children, two doodles, and one husband. In Canada she attended the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto. Her second book was published in the fall of 2022 and is a thriller/courtroom drama called "A Nest of Snakes."
