Obituary: Diana L. Pfeiffer, 66, Of Hamden

Diana found joy in life's simple pleasures and delighted in sharing them with those she loved.

Diana L. Pfeiffer, 66, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 23, 1959, in Upland, California to the late Leonard and Eleanor Lowndes, and was the beloved wife of 44 years to James T. Pfeiffer.

Diana dedicated the first 20 years of her marriage to raising her four children and managing the household while her husband worked long hours for the Metro-North Commuter Railroad. There came a time when God placed the desire on her heart to return to work.

By pursuing new professional opportunities with focus and determination, Diana embraced that challenge wholeheartedly. She began her career as a certified paralegal before transitioning into the banking industry, where her leadership and insight truly shined.

A talented cook and baker, she brought people together through her meals, especially during cherished Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter gatherings. She loved her daily cup of tea and jumped at the opportunity for impromptu tea parties with homemade cookies served on her finest china. Diana was known for her impeccable sense of style and love of makeup, and the timeless scent of her signature Chanel No. 5 perfume. Her strong faith in God guided her life, and her favorite moments were spent lakeside in New Hampshire with her beloved husband and family.

Behind closed doors, Diana was the heart of the home - quick with a hug, always checking in to make sure you were okay, and never too serious to be silly. She had an infectious, unmistakable laugh and delighted in playful moments with her children and grandchildren. She wasn’t afraid to poke fun at herself, often being the first to make everyone else smile. Fried Green Tomatoes was her favorite movie, and like the women in that story, she lived with heart, humor, and fierce devotion to those she loved. She adored piano music and could often be heard in the kitchen yelling at Alexa to “Skip!” when a song didn’t suit her mood - a sound that always made the family smile.

In addition to her beloved husband Jim, she is survived by their four children: James L. Pfeiffer (Priscilla), Andrew Pfeiffer (Jessica), Christina Das (Pratik), and Alexandra Pfeiffer; four cherished grandchildren: Ethan J. Pfeiffer, Lucas Kaesmann, Ryan Pfeiffer, and Penelope Das; her sister Ellen Winslow; brothers-in-law William Pfeiffer and Donald Pfeiffer; and many extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
