Occupation:

Retired firefighter

Family:
Wife Gail married 44 years a son and daughter and 8 grandchildren

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
I was elected to the BOE a few years ago was appointed as a fire commissioner a few years ago

Why are you seeking this office?
I was born and raised in Hamden and I’ve actively involved in the community coaching youth sports and being an active volunteer firefighter for over 50 years I can remember what a striving town we were people from all over flocked to the Magic Mile for their shopping needs manufacturing businesses lined Dixwell Ave safety electric acme wire Whitney Blake high standard although I believe that demise of these businesses were more on the corporate side I haven’t seen great strides in our local government to try and replenish economic structure that we once had. I would like to see the department heads be responsible for their budget you can’t spend what you don’t have. Transparency we have been lied to for many years about our finances and each administration blames the previous one it's time to stop kicking the can down the street and work on a solution. Appoint commissions with people who are willing to work with the administration not against it with its own agendas

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Our financial status do all in our power to get all the documents needed to see where we stand then call for a forensic audit to see exactly where and how our money was spent

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I will be taking a pro active approach looking into the future closing the barn door before they escape where most of our previous candidates have closed the barn door after the horses escaped (referring to our money as the horses).

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Public safety I will totally fund our police and fire departments actively pursue state and federal grant money for modern technology projects and programs and higher education programs I was infuriated when the last council turned down a I believe $69,000 grant for a drone a highly technical police department investigative tool because they thought it was an invasion of your privacy.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
During my tenure on the BOE I was chairman of the operations committee which is comparative to being a council member and was elected all 4 years as the chair

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Stand by your beliefs don’t back down

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I will be dedicated to the position full time I will be available 24/7/365 I will fight for what’s right.
