Hamden Fire Department Chili Cookoff Winner Announced
The Hamden Fire Department's annual Chili Cookoff was recently held at Memorial Town Hall.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Firefighter Sam Guttman from Fire Station 2 was the winner of the Hamden Fire Department’s annual Chili Cookoff, which was held Friday in the Legislative Council Chambers at Memorial Town Hall.
A panel of judges sampled chili from the town’s five fire stations, along with the fire marshal’s office.
Guttman’s winning recipe consisted of bison, venison, short ribs, and a blend of spices, according to the fire department.

The judges for this year’s competition were Ken Houston, WTNH News 8, Sharon Jones, community service, Joe Colello, Department of Public Works, and Stephen White, engineering.
