Hamden Fireworks 2023: Here’s What To Know
Hamden's fireworks display is returning after a four-year hiatus. Here's the full lineup of food trucks, parking information and more.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden’s Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display is returning for the first time since 2019, thanks to a partnership with Quinnipiac University, Mayor Lauren Garrett announced.
The festivities will take place at Town Center Park, 2761 Dixwell Avenue, on Friday, June 30, and feature the Hamden Symphony Orchestra and fireworks by Pyrotecnico. The rain date is Saturday, July 1.
DJ Buddha LuvJonz will kick off the festivities at 6 p.m.

The Hamden Symphony Orchestra will take the stage to perform at 7:30 p.m., led by Music Director and Conductor Vesna Mehinovic since 2008. Founded in 1962, the Hamden Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer orchestra of more than 70 musicians from the Greater New Haven area and beyond.

The fireworks show will start at approximately 9:20 p.m.

Handicap parking only is conveniently located at Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave. Parking will be available at Government Center, 2750 Dixwell Ave and the municipal parking lot, 2972 Dixwell Ave, in addition to street parking.
CERT will have their mobile command unit/first aid station on site, and the Hamden Police Department will have their mobile command unit on site as well.

Hamden’s Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display is presented by the Department of Arts, Culture, Recreation and Wellness with fireworks by Pyrotecnico. The celebration and display are held in cooperation with the Hamden Parks Department, Hamden Public Works, CERT, Hamden Fire Department, Hamden Police Department, and the Mayor’s Office.
