HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Arts Commission and the Town of Hamden announced Tuesday the 2024 Hamden Free Summer Concert Series lineup that is “sure to captivate the audience and create unforgettable nights of music.”
Fatman Scoop brings the party to Hamden on Friday, July 12 with his booming voice for the Green and Gold Party. NYC native Fatman Scoop is a hype man and radio personality with several guest performances on various hip-hop songs that have topped charts. Joining Fatman Scoop are “The Show” DJ Binky B & Big E, as well as Hollywood & DJ SW1. Attendees are encouraged to wear green and gold attire. Hamden Superintendent Gary Highsmith and two-time championship 2023-2024 Hamden Varsity Girls Basketball Team will be honored as the Summer Concert Series Awardees.

On Friday, July 19, enjoy the most popular Fleetwood Mac songs performed by the world’s number one tribute to Fleetwood Mac, Tusk, hosted by Darryl Huckaby. The five outstanding musicians that make up Tusk have traveled the country together since 2008, performing the contemporary rock sounds of Fleetwood Mac, one of the world’s best-loved, top-selling rock bands.
The third and final act stars The Drifters, The Platters and Cornell Gunter’s The Coasters on Friday, July 26th, serving up a triple dose of nostalgia for a party with a purpose, hosted by Darryl Huckaby and Hollywood & DJ SW1. All three vocal groups were formed in the 1950s. The Drifters are an American pop and R&B/soul vocal group, The Platters are an American rhythm and blues vocal group, and The Coasters are an American doo-wop vocal group.

All shows will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hamden’s Town Center Park, 2761 Dixwell Ave with ample free parking. To park, please enter Town Center Park through the Hamden Middle School, 2623 Dixwell Ave. Parking can also be found at the Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave.
In the event of inclement weather, information regarding the concert will be available online by 12 noon the day of the concert.
The Hamden Free Summer Concert Series is presented by the Hamden Arts Commission and is sponsored by Quinnipiac University. The Hamden Free Summer Concert Series is held in cooperation with 94.3 WYBC, Hamden Parks Department, Hamden Public Works, Hamden Police Department, Hamden Fire Department, CERT, and the Mayor’s Office.
