ID Of Hamden Man Killed In Double-Fatal Shooting Released: Police

Two people were killed in a shooting in New Haven, according to police.

UPDATE: Police said the victims have been identified as Clifford Capehart, 49, of New Haven and Keron Troutman, 39, of Hamden.


NEW HAVEN, CT — At around 9:50 p.m., police responded to the area of Goffe and Winter streets for a 911 call of people shot, said New Haven police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart.

When police arrived, they found two victims, "laying in the street, unresponsive," one was pronounced dead at the scene, Bruckhart said. The second person died of their injuries in the hospital, he said.

In an update mid-morning Tuesday on "X," police said the victims were a New Haven man, 49, and a Hamden man, 39.
