Hamden Middle School Celebrates Veterans
The school will host a Veterans Awareness Day program in which students will have the opportunity to interact with more than 80 veterans.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Middle School will host a Veterans Awareness Day program from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
“The program’s primary goal is to help seventh-grade students understand and appreciate the outstanding contributions of our country’s veterans and to honor their sacrifice,” according to a news release.
The program will begin with a special assembly and then the students will have the opportunity to interact with more than 80 veterans and listen to their stories and experiences in the U.S. Service.

“At Hamden Middle School, we want our students to connect with the selfless contributions of our brave service men and women,” Hamden Middle School Assistant Principal Hector Ortiz said. “Not just hear about them, but meet them face to face and truly understand why Veterans’ Day is an important holiday.”
