Hamden Silverbells Celebration Details Announced
Festivities include brunch with Mr. Claus, Holiday Hula, crafts, caroling, tree lighting, Santa's arrival by fire truck and more.
HAMDEN, CT — Town Center Park in Hamden will be filled with holiday lights and community merrymaking on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for Hamden's Silverbells Celebration.
Festivities will include brunch with Mr. Claus, Holiday Hula, letters to Santa, various kids’ holiday crafts, caroling, tree lighting, and Santa’s arrival by fire truck. All festivities are free, except for purchases from craft vendors.

At Thornton Wilder Hall in the Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave., festivities include:
- 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Kids’ Holiday Crafts, Button-Making, Letters to Santa, Craft Vendors, and the Hamden Art League Art Show
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Brunch (pancakes, sausage, eggs, and juice) with Mr. Claus (no cost; registration required with Recreation: recreation@hamden.com or 203-287-2579)
- 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Mele Kalikimaka with Kaiholunuie Polynesian Dance Company. Holiday Hula - Watch and Learn Hula dancing to Holiday music. Hawaiian fare will be served.

- 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Apple cider and cookies provided by the Hamden Rotary Club and face painting
- 3 p.m.: Caroling with the Hamden Girl Scouts
- 3:45 p.m.: Community caroling and Christmas tree lighting ceremony, with Bill Lastomirsky and Pete Laffin
- 4:30 p.m.: Santa’s arrival by fire truck and visits with Santa
Holiday trees and wreaths will be available for purchase in the parking lot of Miller Cultural Complex, and the special edition 2023 Town of Hamden Ornament will be available for purchase inside Thornton Wilder Hall.
Please bring an unwrapped toy for the Hamden Kids Holiday Toy Drive.
Silverbells is held in cooperation with the Hamden Recreation Department, Hamden Community Services, Hamden Youth Services, Hamden Senior Services, Hamden Rotary Club, Hamden CERT, Hamden Parks Department, Hamden Public Works, Hamden Fire Department, Hamden Police Department, and the Mayor’s Office.
