Hamden Silverbells Celebration Details Announced
Festivities include brunch with Mr. Claus, caroling, food trucks, tree lighting, Santa's arrival by fire truck and more.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden – Hamden will be filled with holiday lights and community merrymaking from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 for Hamden's Silverbells Holiday Festival.
Festivities will include brunch with Mr. Claus, gingerbread house workshop, crafters market, various kids’ holiday crafts, Feliz Navidad Celebration, hayrides with holiday displays, Girl Scout holiday songs, caroling, tree lighting ceremony, and Santa’s arrival by firetruck! All festivities are free, except for purchases from crafters and food trucks.

10:30AM to 3:30PM in Thornton Wilder Hall, 2901 Dixwell Ave:
- 10:30AM & 11:30AM (2 sessions): Free brunch with Mr. Claus - pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, & juice provided by Mi-Tai. Registration with the Recreation Department is required: (203) 287-2579
- 2PM to 3:30PM: Feliz Navidad Celebration - music, dancing, and free Hispanic/Latin fare will be provided by Sabor Nuestro (first come, first served)
11AM to 3PM in the Senior Center Activity Room, 2901 Dixwell Ave:

- 11AM & 1:30PM (2 sessions): Free Gingerbread House Workshop for ages 6-12. Registration with the Recreation Department is required: (203) 287-2579
11AM to 3PM in the Senior Center Social Hall, 2901 Dixwell Ave:
- 11AM to 3PM: Crafters Market & kids’ holiday crafts, including letters to Santa and button-making
1PM to 5PM at Town Center Park, 2761 Dixwell Ave:
- 1PM to 5PM: Hayrides with holiday displays, interactive inflatables, letters to Santa, music by DJ Dre, free cookies provided by the Hamden Rotary Club (first come, first served), free hot cocoa provided by Taino Brews (first come, first served), and food trucks
- 3:45PM to 4PM: Caroling with the Hamden Girl Scouts
- 4PM to 4:30PM: Tree Lighting Ceremony with Bill Lastomirsky and Pete Laffin
- 4:30PM to 5PM: Santa’s arrival by fire truck and pictures with Santa
Holiday trees and wreaths will be available for purchase in the parking lot of the Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave. The special edition 2024 Town of Hamden Ornament as well as the commemorative reissued Spring Glen Hardware Ornament will be available for purchase inside Thornton Wilder Hall at the Recreation Department table.
Please bring an unwrapped toy for the Hamden Kids Holiday Toy Drive.
Silverbells is held in cooperation with Hamden Cultural Affairs, Hamden Recreation, Hamden Senior Services, Hamden Youth Services, Hamden Community Services, Hamden Parks Department, Hamden Public Works, Hamden Fire Department, Hamden CERT, Hamden Rotary Club, Hamden Police Department, and Mayor’s Office.
