Hamden Summer Concert Canceled Friday, Aug. 27

HAMDEN, CT — The Free Summer Concert scheduled for Friday, Aug. 27 at Town Center Park has been canceled due to the weather, officials announced.

The concert featuring Sean Nelson’s New London Big Band will be rescheduled.

“We were really trying to hold out for the last Free Summer Concert tonight at Town Center Park but due to this unpredictable weather and worsening conditions, it is best for all to cancel and reschedule,” officials wrote in a news release. “The 17-piece band would have to drive over and hour and a half to get here and with scattered thunder storms in the forecast, it is best to keep everyone, including residents and guests, home and safe. With the recent Delta spike, it is no longer an option to move indoors. We will be rescheduling this show at a later date.”
