John C. Murray 73
One of his great joys was watching his grandson play football for Hamden High School.
John C. Murray 73, of Hamden died Dec. 29, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores Evanski Murray, the loving father of Elizabeth A. Lassiter of Hamden and Patricia A. Murray of Wallingford and the brother of Gerald Murray of Needham, MA. He also is survived by his cherished grandchildren Jason, Jessica and Hannah Lassiter.
John was born in New Haven Jan. 14, 1939, the son of the late Gerald and Rose Shanahan Murray. Mr. Murray was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and UCONN. He had worked as a credit manager for Uniroyal International and had owned dry cleaning businesses in Milford and Huntington.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. One of his great joys was watching his grandson play football for Hamden High School.
His funeral will leave Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m.
