Lane Closures Announced For Milling, Resurfacing Project In Hamden

The project is expected to take about two weeks to complete, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

HAMDEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 15 South in Hamden starting this week.

The project is scheduled to start on Wednesday, Oct. 1 and be completed by Wednesday, Oct. 15, according to officials.

The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.16-mile segment of Route 15 southbound in Hamden from 0.16 miles north of the overpass for Connolly Parkway to the median crossover just prior to Heroes Tunnel. This project is being performed by Waters Construction.

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) southbound from the Exit 61 on-ramp to the entrance to the Heroes Tunnel in Hamden. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns and state troopers will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
