Lane Closures Announced On Route 15 In Hamden
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect over several weeks on Route 15.
HAMDEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation is advising motorists that lane closures are expected on Route 15 in Hamden, North Haven, and Wallingford over the next several weeks due to mowing.
The mowing operation is scheduled to start on Monday, June 16 and be completed on Friday, Aug. 8, according to officials.
“To ensure the safety of the public, CTDOT is removing vegetation that have grown into the clear zone, which is the safety space along the side of the roadway,” officials wrote in the advisory. “This work helps save lives in the event of a crash or vehicle leaving the roadway.”

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect right lane closures on Route 15 north and southbound in Hamden, North Haven, and Wallingford from Monday, June 16 to Friday, August 8, 2025, during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday. Traffic control signing patterns, crash attenuator trucks and State Police will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. No work will be performed around any scheduled holidays.
