From teachers and tutors to bus drivers, cafeteria staff, crossing guards and more, these caring individuals bring steady support and positivity to our schools. To recognize their many contributions — big and small — Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to salute the unsung heroes of back-to-school.

Please describe why this individual is a hero at your school.

Kathy is our school clerk and she spends all summer preparing for the new school year in August. She makes sure that parents fill out registration forms, meticulously goes through bus routes, orders supplies for teachers, and does a thousand other things to make the opening day of school run smoothly. She does all this with patience and a sense of humor.

How do you know the school hero you’re nominating?

I am the school’s principal.

What should your community know about this person?

Kathy has been a Hamden Public School employee for many years. She has been at Dunbar Hill for over a decade.

Meticulous, Conscientious, Professional
