Motorcyclist Killed In Crash In Hamden: Police
A motorcyclist died after a crash Thursday night in Hamden, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — A North Haven man was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday night in Hamden, according to police.
Police responded to the Hamden Fire Station (#3) at 441 Hartford Turnpike around 10 p.m. on Sept. 14 on the report of a motor vehicle accident, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.
Vey said arriving officers found the motorcycle operator, 20-year-old Stephen Marciano, being treated for injuries sustained in an accident. He was taken to Yale-New Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later, according to Vey.

“The accident appears to have been taken place on Hartford Turnpike near Jackson Road,” Vey wrote in a news release. “Members of the Hamden Police Accident Reconstruction Team, Major Crimes Unit, and Crime Scene Unit all responded to this location to initiate an investigation. At this time, it appears that while operating his motorcycle Northbound on Hartford Turnpike, Marciano left the roadway and collided with a utility pole.”
Vey said the investigation is active and ongoing.
