Obituary: Catherine Sheila O’Connell, 85, formerly of Hamden
Catherine worked at Armstrong Tire in West Haven and as a finance clerk for Yale University in New Haven until retirement.
HAMDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Catherine Sheila O’Connell, 85, formerly of Hamden, wife of the late Kenneth O’Connell, passed away February 20, 2022 at Gardner Heights – Apple Rehab in Shelton.
She was born in New Haven on August 20, 1936, a daughter of the late William and Julia (Corcoran) Colwell.
Catherine worked at Armstrong Tire in West Haven and then worked as a finance clerk for Yale University in New Haven until her retirement.
Catherine is survived by many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, William, Richard, Thomas and Philip Colwell and Audrey Colwell Robillard and Judy Colwell Quinn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly at St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Thursday, February 24, 2020 at 11 am. Masks must be worn.
Interment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory can be made to Yale New Haven Hospital, Adler Center, 20 York Street, Office of Development, New Haven, CT 06510.
