Viola Cafano Cuomo, age 102, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was the beloved wife for 75 years to the late Anthony L. Cuomo.
A devoted and loving mother, Viola is survived by her daughters, Audrey (Louis) Mascola of East Haddam and Lori (James) Earley of Summerville, South Carolina. She was a cherished grandmother to Marc (Kristin) Mascola of Trumbull and Shelley (John) Candler of East Haddam, and a proud great-grandmother to Marc, Madison, Mason, and Maggie Mascola, and Julianne and Jake Giordano.

Born in Hamden on May 16, 1923, Viola was the daughter of the late Peter and Rose Nista Cafano. She was predeceased by her siblings Edith Lotto, Angelina Barbuto, George Cafano and Peter Cafano, Jr.
Viola worked faithfully alongside her husband Anthony in the family business, Cuomo’s Television & Antenna Sales and Service, where her dedication and hard work helped build a trusted name in the community.

In retirement, Viola embraced life’s simple joys. She loved playing golf, going to bingo with friends & family, and spending winters in Florida with Anthony—creating memories full of sunshine, laughter, and companionship. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her warm and generous spirit, her exceptional cooking skills and her zest for life.
