Owner Reunited With Missing Dog 18 Months Later: Hamden Animal Control

A Happy Tail: A man was reunited with his missing dog for the first time in 18 months on Thanksgiving, the Hamden Animal Control said.

HAMDEN, CT — A man was reunited with his missing dog after 18 months on Thanksgiving, according to the Hamden Animal Control.

“Today was truly a day to give thanks for this man,” the animal control wrote in a post on Facebook.“His dog was missing for over a year. What a surprise when Hamden Animal Control called and let him know they had his dog. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Miracles do happen!”

Officials said the dog was found in a parking lot and was found to have a microchip when the animal control scanned for one.

“Luckily it was registered,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook. “When the owner was contacted we were surprised to hear the dog went missing a year and a half ago.”
