Petulia D. Blake of New Haven Appointed to Management Faculty at Quinnipiac University
"We are delighted to have Dr. Blake join our faculty," said Mary Meixell, associate dean of the School of Business.

Petulia D. Blake, Ph.D., of New Haven, has been appointed an assistant teaching professor of management in the School of Business at Quinnipiac University.
In her new position, Blake is teaching classes on management, organizational behavior, human resource management and team processes.

“It is an honor to be a part of the Quinnipiac University community where students are prepared to adapt to the ever-changing organizational environment,” Blake said. “In the classroom, students recognize my passion for teaching, global experience, and knowledge of diverse industries. As an assistant teaching professor here, my goal is to impart new knowledge, promote creative thinking, and develop their global competence. Business social responsibility is an integral part of their learning experience. I am indeed fortunate to be working with a supportive team in the Department of Management who values a student-centered approach to learning.”

Blake earned a doctorate in technology management from Indiana State University, a master of science in industrial management from Central Connecticut State University and a bachelor’s degree in American cultural studies and Spanish from Bates College.
She conducts research in the areas of corporate sustainability and social responsibility with a focus on management and leadership. Her article, “Management Behavior Toward the Integration of Sustainability,” was published in the Summer 2016 issue of SAM – Advanced Management Journal.
Before coming to Quinnipiac, Blake was a full-time lecturer of management, organizational behavior, and human resources management at State University of New York Plattsburgh. As a Connecticut resident for more than 28 years, she has held numerous positions in the aerospace, construction, education, and mental health industries. Blake also owned a small business in this state, which makes her extremely passionate about the revitalization of rural main street. She travels extensively to conduct presentations, and work on projects with international scholars.
