Quinnipiac University Bobcats Team Up with Children's Center

Quinnipiac University Tennis Team teaches food prep

Residents from The Children's Center of Hamden's group home learned how to make healthy snacks thanks to the Quinnipiac University Women's Tennis team. The team, along with an athletic dietician, hosted the residents at the university's new kitchen in the Wellness Center. Snacks on the menu included pita bread and hummus, apple slices with chocolate, peanut butter and oats, and a protein pack pasta salad. The group home at The Center is the home for 4 young women with intellectual disabilities. Visiting the tennis team at Quinnipiac University was one of many efforts provided to help the women connect with their community and practice the independent living skill of food preparation.
