HAMDEN, Conn. – May 1, 2025 - Quinnipiac University officials cut ribbons Thursday on two new, state-of-the-art academic buildings—marking a major milestone in the creation of the university’s South Quad on the Mount Carmel Campus.
University President Judy Olian, Provost Debra J. Liebowitz and Board of Trustees Chair Chuck Saia led the ceremony, officially opening the new School of Business and The SITE, two hubs designed to advance innovation, collaboration and academic excellence.
Home to future business leaders and entrepreneurs, the 79,000-square-foot School of Business features a Business Innovation Hub as an incubator to build and test new ideas; a financial technology center where students will use cutting-edge trading platforms, investment tools and data systems; faculty offices; and flexible lecture and event spaces that can seat up to 150 people to facilitate large and small gatherings. The School of Business will also be the new home of the M&T Bank Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the M&T Bank Center for Women and Business. An environmentally conscious central energy plant also is housed below the new School of Business.
Adjacent to the business school, The SITE—short for Science, Innovation, Technology and Exploration—is an academic building that spans 137,000 square feet. The SITE will feature state-of-the-art wet and dry labs, space to expand Quinnipiac’s computing programs, new classrooms, collaborative spaces for breakout and group study, and offices for deans and faculty. In addition, the building will house a modern auditorium to seat more than 700 people for both university and community events.
The two buildings join The Grove, a new 415-bed residence hall which opened last August, to complete the South Quad.
