HAMDEN, CT — Below are recent death notices from Hamden.

Harry W. O'Neill Jr., 90, passed away on Feb. 15, 2025. He was a dedicated teacher for over 34 years at Rock Hill School and a U.S. Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Coates. An Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow recipient, he was deeply involved in Hamden Youth Hockey, Hamden Fathers Baseball, and the American Legion, later earning induction into the Southern CT Diamond Club Hall of Fame, and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judith, four children, and nine grandchildren.

Kevin M. Hope, 73, passed away on Feb. 18, 2025. A longtime insurance professional and graduate of Notre Dame High School and the University of Notre Dame, he is survived by his brother Donald F. Hope and spouse Marianne Antin Hope.

Mary Ann Young, 82, a longtime administrator for Quest Diagnostics who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren, passed away on Feb. 18, 2025, and is survived by her two sons and two grandchildren.

Sheryl Kozlowski Carmody, 68, a longtime pari-mutuel teller at Milford Jai-alai and Foxwoods who enjoyed classic black-and-white movies, oldies music, cooking, and finding “signs from above,” passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 18, 2025, and is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, and her grand-dog Cece.

Madeline "Mad" Cusano-Popolizio, 94, a former purchasing agent for Southern Connecticut State University who enjoyed painting, drawing, cooking, shopping, and trips to the casino, passed away on Feb. 3, 2025, and is survived by her five children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Phyllis Giardina, 93, a former insurance professional and devoted cook who found joy in creating warm meals and memories for her family, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2025, and is survived by her four children, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Molly.

Viola A. (Catapano) Piscatelli, 90, passed away on Feb. 8, 2025. A former First National Store employee and Hamden school cafeteria worker who enjoyed roller skating, dancing, bingo, and trips to Connecticut casinos, she is survived by her two children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
