Robert Piscitelli Jr., 43, died March 5, 2025. A skilled construction worker and member of the laborer’s union, he had a passion for bodybuilding, BMX biking, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and tattoos, and was known for his larger-than-life personality.

Gerrilynne Biondi, 73, died Mar. 10, 2025, after a six-year battle with lung cancer; a real estate paralegal who later ran her own freelance business, she enjoyed crocheting personalized blankets, scarves, and hats and had a deep affection for animals, especially her many dogs.
Carolyn M. Carrano, 88, died Mar. 11, 2025. A former banker who retired from Webster Bank, she was a strong, independent woman known for her humor, passion for books and movies, and sharp eye for bargains.

Donald “Fitzy” FitzGerald, 87, died Mar. 16, 2025. A lifelong athlete and Army veteran, he turned his passion for sports into a 50-year career in sporting goods sales after excelling as a soccer goalie, standout baseball pitcher and hitter, Twilight League player, and later served on various athletic boards, earning multiple honors including the Gold Bat Award and induction into the West Haven Hall of Fame.
Margherita Maturo, 85, died peacefully Mar. 16, 2025. A former sewing machine operator at Strauss Adler Corporation, she was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Kathleen C. Zawalich, 79, died Mar. 17, 2025. She spent 32 years as a Research Associate at the Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Nursing before retiring.
Chava Burgueño, 73, died Mar. 15, 2025. A dedicated homemaker who later earned an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, he worked at Atticus Bookstore & Cafe and later as a pre-school teacher at Mishkan Israel Nursery School in Hamden and an after-school teacher at the Foote School in New Haven.
